Equine Veterinary Practice In Essex

We are a well-established independent equine veterinary practice based in Chelmsford, Essex. Our fully equipped clinic provides in-patient facilities, an in-house laboratory (same-day general screen blood sampling), surgical theatre, treatment room (with stocks), menage, hard trot up areas, and a weighbridge.

Our vets operate out on the road to provide a comprehensive and personal ambulatory service to all our clients. We work with all types of sports, leisure horses and donkeys. We can conduct many diagnostic and surgical procedures at your yard as well as at the clinic to suit your needs. We pride ourselves on getting to know our clients needs to give you a bespoke service that fits your requirements both medically and financially.

Our team are always striving to provide the best evidence-based treatments and learning new techniques for the benefit of our patients. Our vets regularly go onto further study for advanced certificates (RCVS CERT AVP) in their own areas of interest within equine practice.

What our clients say about us

“Great service today as always! We usually have Vicky who is great! & we’ve recently had the pleasure of meeting Sarah, on a previous yard visit to us and again today at the practice. I would just like to say how great Sarah is too! Very friendly, takes her time to explain everything and was so good with my boy and his needle phobia lol, Thank you very much Sarah & Vicky!”

Ms C

“Hi. I had to have my horse Hattie put to sleep on Sept 25th. Please can you pass on a message to the vet who came out. I’d like to thank her for making Hattie’s final moments peaceful. Also she was right there when I freaked out and panicked. She snuck away while I was saying my final goodbye to my horse and i wanted to thank her. Many thanks.”

Miss B

“I’ve been with Clarendon for the past 2years and they have been absolutely fantastic in dealing with my mares kissing spines and arthritis, including sorting the insurance claim for me. Cannot fault them and they are always friendly, helpful and also call if they are running late. Excellent service!”
